What growing sounds.....

It was Christmas Eve when I look up in the window and found this unwanted feeling. I wanted to talk to someone but I can't find who's the perfect one or should I say, everyone is busy to find time talking to me. Every night, I found myself hugging my bear and wishing that someone would come in rescue. It's odd but I can't even have the courage to go to my friends and you know, catch up. Maybe, it's part of growing up; Time to be mature enough, to face the reality and to make decisions for myself. Just think of the feeling that your parents are overprotective to you. You wanted to enjoy life, go out with your friends, find adventure and look for yourself but there's someone who keeps you from doing them.

To my friends, I was like an open book. I must say, they knew me but should I depend on what they think of me? Or the transparent image I portray when I'm with them? Or should I say, nobody even my family knew the real me and what's inside me? I'm not saying that I'm the mysterious type because deep inside me there's someone hidden. I'm just maybe, imaginative of my future like everybody else.

Every year that passes by, I'm always wishing to be on top, be the best and be an achiever. If you ask me if being lucky is true, I will answer you with a "no". We are the pioneer of the things that happen to us. When you buy a lottery ticket and you won millions of dollars, it's not luck, because it is you who choose your numbers. It is the machine who rolls the dice and gotcha, your numbers have been dropped! It shows what is written in your destiny. From your birth until the day of your death, everything that happens has been written and that is your test, to change for better or be worse.

For me, this coming year will bring me another set of challenges. It can bring me failures and winnings, but what matters most is always the lesson to be learned. What I learned this year is humility and courage. For all the achievements I have this year, there's no reason for me to boast because I'm not the only one who's winning, it is all of us. Talking about courage, maybe I should stop thinking too much and face my friends no matter how embarrassing my thoughts could be. It is just the start of another self searching!

Mediator Series by Meg Cabot

I finished reading the mediator series about a week ago and I love them! I read a book review of the Mediator Series in a magazine and it seemed interesting so I decided to read the books. They are amazing! I love how Meg Cabot used humor and such in heavy situations and I like Suze's thoughts.

For those who haven't read the books, here's the story: Susannah Simon is a normal teenage girl except that she can see and talk to ghosts. When she was a kid her father died and after many years her mother is remarrying. Now she has to move from New York City to Carmel, California with her new family which consists of her mother, her step-father Andy and her three step-brothers. In her new home she finds out that there's 150 year old ghost of a cute and totally hot guy named Jesse living in her bedroom. The books then follow her ghost adventures and how she falls in love with Jesse and then risks her life to save him.

And they won't leave her alone until she helps them resolve their unfinished business with the living. But Jesse, the hot ghost haunting her bedroom, doesn't seem to need her help. Which is a relief, because Suze has just moved to sunny California and plans to start fresh, with trips to the mall instead of the cemetery, and surfing instead of spectral visitations. But the very first day at her new school, Suze realizes it's not that easy. There's a ghost with revenge on her mind.and Suze happens to be in the way.

And mediator Paul knows how to send Jesse to the Great Beyond. For good.Paul claims he won't do anything to Jesse as long as Suze will go out with him. Fearing she'll lose Jesse forever, Suze agrees. But even if Suze can get Jesse to admit his true feelings for her, what kind of future can she have with a guy who's already dead?Title: USA: Twilight/ UK: Heaven SentAuthor: Meg Cabot
Cover: Summary: Suze has gotten used to ghosts. They wake her up in the middle of the night. They haunt her locker at school. She's even spotted a few down at Carmel Beach. Suze is a mediator, after all, and communicating with the dead is all in a day's work for her. The last thing she ever expected was to fall in love with one: Jesse, a nineteenth-century hottie. But when she and Paul Slater, himself a mediator of undeniable power (and dubious intent), discover that the powers they share aren't limited to helping ghosts resolve their earthly woes, but can also be used to determine whether or not they become ghosts in the first place, Suze can't help but freak. Not because she suddenly knows how to alter the course of history, but because Paul, can, too. And Paul would like nothing better than to prevent Jesse's murder, keeping him from becoming a ghost and allowing him to live a natural life at last.only in the nineteenth century. Meaning Jesse and Suze would never meet.Suddenly, Suze is the faced with the most important decision of her life: Allow the only guy she's ever loved to have the life he's always longed for.or keep him anchored forever in half-life at her side. But will Jesse choose to live without her, or die to love her?

"Where's respect?"

Catholic mass was offended by Mideo Cruz’s so called “Polytheism” art exhibit in the Cultural Center of the Philippines last August 4. Strings also attached the non-Catholic sects, probably the whole Christianity who believes that Jesus is God.
Mideo Cruz elaborated that his works explain the Philippine history about “idol worshipping” during the Spanish colonization (where Catholic faith came) up to the time of the American period (where cultural mindset was attained). But what about the sexual symbols? They are symbols of “patriarchy” (where men hold authority over women) and oppression of women, says Cruz.
Actually, Catholics don’t worship many gods. They believe, however, in “Triune God” which means ‘three divine persons in one God’. In the works of Mideo Cruz, it explains the worship of relics and idolatry by Catholic people. The medium he used might be right but his message is wrong. No one worships relics but pagans. Thus, Catholics venerate images as sensual channels to the divine. What Cruz just did is a big insult to the Catholic iconography especially the placing of sexual symbols in the faces of the holy images.
The exhibit was closed but until now, the issue was still on existence. The different sectors took actions by asking Cruz publicly to apologize for the blasphemous exhibit. Is calling for a senate hearing regarding the issue a better idea? For many years, the Catholic faith has received criticisms from different personalities particularly John Lennon who not only spoke that “We’re bigger than Jesus” but who also sang “I don’t believe in Jesus” in his famous piece “God”. Another is when Christopher Hitchens, a Briton, wrote “God is not Great.”. In the sense, it is not only Mideo Cruz who had greatly sinned. The Philippines has a lot of more important issues to be considered by the senate. An apology and penance from Cruz is enough. Let us just leave God the rest decision because we are not saints or God to judge one another.
We all have the freedom to express ourselves. The point is, don’t we have limitations upon ourselves? Mideo Cruz made a wrong move but he is also a creature of God. The importance of his work opened us all up to how we value God in our life as of this moment. Many days now, a lot of unwanted happenings occur and so we’re busy checking on it, without even thinking of the more important matters that includes God.
“Remember, people will judge you by your actions, not your intentions. You may have a heart of gold—but so does a hard boiled egg.”

MEASUREMENT

In old times, people used body parts to measure a thing
Some also based their measurement to their king
And now there is the SI Base units we are using
Enable us to measure everything

There are also Filipino versions like Dipa
It’s not accurate and it’s not also tama
There was the person named Magna Carta
Unfortunately, he doesn’t have informative gifts like Santa

In measurement, we have two systems
The English and the Metric system
Multiples of ten in metric system
Difficult conversion in English system

Simple measurements serve as basic elements
Tape measure and rulers are the common instruments
It’s a big help for us knowing these measurements
For us to build better infrastractures and environment

Haay! It’s hard to do a poem about measurement
Since then we don’t have enough information and statements
But we know we had our development
In converting measurements for our improvement
